White Horse Riders –
The Imposter And The King

           By  Gene Creech

"Rev 6:2  “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer”. ”.

“Come and see” were the words John heard as the Lord Jesus opened the first seal.

Only one verse is given to describe what followed, but so much is said in these few words.

This is a man that will have much impact on the world.  But, who is he?  He enters riding a white horse like a great champion carrying only a bow.  No shield or armour is mentioned. Nothing is said of any great armies following him.  He appears to be alone.  He has no crown, but one is given to him.  He goes forth conquering nations, and to conquer others not yet fallen before him.  He is a warrior.

His power and authority come from Satan.
“…and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority”. (Rev 13:2)

The scene turns to a red horse as the second seal is opened, and the rider goes forth with a great sword to take peace from the earth.  The rider now brings turmoil to the world as he continues to conquer new lands, and impose his will upon the world.  Resisting kingdoms will thrust the world into a full-scale war.

The third seal is opened and a black horse comes forth.  The sufferings resulting from this horrific war can be seen as famine fills the land, and the “king of fierce countenance” (Daniel 8:23) continues to move across, claiming his empire.

Then, finally, the face of death is upon the earth as the fourth seal is opened and the horse is now pale, and Hell follows as “power was given unto him over the fourth part of the earth…”. (Rev 6:8)   Half the population will die during the reign of this wicked one..

  •  The man appears first as a hero on a white horse, but will destroy many through a promise of peace. (Daniel 8:25)
  • After making a seven year peace treaty with the nation of Israel, he will allow the Jews to rebuild their temple in Jerusalem.
  • The dream of “peace at last” for Israel will be shattered when this “man of sin” (2 Th 2:3) kills the “two witnesses” of God (Rev. 11:7) and claims the temple for himself, seeking to set up his throne as the king of the world, and the God of the creation.
  • “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” (II Th.2:4)
  • He will seek to wipe out the Jews and all who resist him.

One of the greatest desires for carnal man is to gain great power. So, finally, Satan has his man here in the end that pursues the dream that began in the Garden when the serpent told Eve, “ye shall be as gods…”. (Gen 3:5)

Who is this imposter posing as king of the world?

 He is:

The king of fierce countenance Daniel 8:23

That man of sin  2Th 2:3

The son of perdition  2Th 2:3

The spoiler & the extortioner  Isa 16:4

That Wicked  2Th 2:8

The beast  Rev 13:2

 He is the Anti-Christ

Chapter 19 of the book of The Revelation tells of
another white horse rider.

Rev. 19:11  “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war”.
  • Unlike the first white horse rider, this rider makes a grand entry.

  • Heaven opens, and He appears wearing many crowns.

  • His armour is His own, and He has proven it Himself.

  •  “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God”. (Rev 19:13)

  • He is not alone.

  • He is followed by the armies which were in heaven.  (Rev 19:14)

  • He bears a name on His vesture and on His thigh, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS”.  (Rev 19:16)

This would not be the first time He came riding into Jerusalem. The first time He entered Jerusalem as a humble servant riding a little donkey.  He wept as He looked over Jerusalem and saw the people, through whom He had chosen to bring God’s gift of life to the world, as they missed the time of the visitation.  This first time, as the Lamb of God, He spoke not a word as they spat on Him, plucked out His beard, and tied Him to a post and beat Him.  Then nailed Him to a cross to bear the shame, and pay the price to redeem mankind to the Father.

But not this time!  This time He comes to Jerusalem as The King.  He is riding a white horse suited to depict His authority as the King, coming to take His rightful place on the throne as the real King of Israel.  He has come to take back what is rightfully His.  His weapon is His Word that cuts asunder, and brings under subjection the rebellious kingdoms of this world that have denied Him, and exalted themselves to great heights. “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron”. (Rev 19:15 )

The Anti-Christ
(the white horse rider of chapter 6)
will lead the kings of the earth in one last battle as they gather together in a place called Armageddon to battle the King of Kings
(The white horse rider of Rev. 19)
 and His army.

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.  (Rev 19:19-20)

Who is the second white horse rider?

He is:

 The Lamb of God

The Messiah

The beloved Son of God

The King of Kings

The Savior

He has many titles and names

He is the Lord Jesus!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus (Rev 22:20)
